Very true. Very intimate, very personal, even in a massive theatre. You have the impression that she sings just for you. She tells funny stories, laughs at herself, does amazing live versions of her and other people’s hits. Sings songs about things that have affected her personally. In French and English, her warmth and sincerity shines through. I’ve had the pleasure and honour of sitting in on some of the pre show “repetitions” and her attention to detail is quite incredible. One tiny wrong note in the music and she hears it, stops the band and gets it corrected. No wonder she’s lasted at the top for so very very long.
